Happy Holidays from MNR!

By December 24, 2014 No Comments

We at MNR Coop have much to be thankful for this holiday season, including you! Our beloved members make our collective a joy, and we loved celebrating at our most recent monthly Member Appreciation event last Sunday! We were pleased to give each of the first 300 members who visited us that day gift bags containing free 8ths of OG, MNR beanies and New Year’s lighters! We were also joined by the Grilled Cheese Truck & raffled off 4 beautiful Hit It Once glass bongs & oil rigs. Mark your calendars, our next monthly Member Appreciation celebration will take place on January 25, 2015!

Additionally, all month long, members visiting us @mnrcoop receive a free joint on each visit by mentioning, “jingle bells” to one of our faithful budtenders!

The joys of medicated cooking are many, and tis the season to be jolly! We are delighted to offer a fine selection of edibles & medicated cooking ingredients at MNR including our famous cannabis infused coconut oil & butter! We recently experimented with delicious Kiva medicated chocolate bars, melted down in a double boiler, and used in a simple family recipe for chocolate dipped peanut butter balls! Certainly it’s not health food, but as they say, everything in moderation, including moderation!

The recipe is simple and calls only for peanut butter, powdered sugar, and chocolate. Combine equal amounts of peanut butter and powdered sugar, kneading and mixing by hand until thoroughly blended. Shape the concoction into small balls, about the diameter of a quarter. Place them on wax paper so that they are not touching, and store in the freezer for a half hour. Meanwhile, in a double boiler on low heat, melt either non medicated semi sweet chocolate chips, or Kiva dark chocolate bars broken into small pieces, stirring frequently until the chocolate is fully melted. Remove the balls from the freezer. Using a toothpick, pick up each ball one by one and dip it into the chocolate, placing each on wax paper to cool. To easily remove the toothpick, simply give it a little twist! Allow the candies to set a bit. If you find that your choice of chocolate runs off the dipped balls, try including a small amount of paraffin, stirred into the melting chocolate in the double boiler. Don’t overheat the chocolate! The recipe works best if the chocolate is kept at a low temperature, just high enough for it to melt. 🙂

Of course we remind you to please enjoy responsibly and remember, patients only!

Wishing everyone a wonderful rest of 2014, and a healthy & happy 2015!

Love,
